  1. Troubadour

From the recording Troubadour

Music & Lyrics by Wayne Merdinger

Lyrics

He was a sinner - he was a saint
He was an open contradiction with so much he had to say
He was poignant - but he was real
And his words they made you wonder ‘bout the way that they made you feel

He was a troubadour in disguise
And someone who might take you by surprise
And if you had a little time - to keep an open mind
There was always more to read between the lines

He was a poet - he was a clown
He’d bring you up when he wanted to and then he’d take you right back down
He’d make you laugh - he’d make you cry
He could take you where he wanted to to change your state of mind

He was a troubadour in disguise
And someone who might take you by surprise
And if you had a little time - to keep an open mind
There was always more to read between the lines

This troubadour was so much more - than a passage and a rhyme
With style and relevance - that can stand the test of time

He was a master - he was a slave
Beholden to the words that he would put down on every page
Never good enough - and never through
Always searching for a better way to say something more to you

He was a troubadour in disguise
And someone who might take you by surprise
And if you had a little time - to keep an open mind
There was always more to read between the lines

He was a troubadour in disguise
